Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

1. Introduction

Hit My Macros ("we,“ "us,“ or "our“) is committed to protecting the privacy of its users ("you“ or "your“). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our nutrition-tracking app, Hit My Macros (the "App“). By accessing or using the App, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. Please note that our App does not provide real nutrition advice.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, email address, profile picture, and any other information you choose to provide when you create an account or use certain features of the App.

2.2. Food and Barcode Data

When you use the App, we collect and store the food and barcode data you scan with your device’s camera. This data is used to provide nutrition information and to help you track your macros. We also store any food images you capture with the app.

2.3. Usage Data

We may automatically collect certain information about how you interact with and use the App. This may include your IP address, device type, unique device identifiers, browser type, and operating system.

2.4. Location Data

When you permit the App to access your location, we use it to help you find local restaurants. We don’t store this data.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1. Provision of Services

We may use your personal information and other data collected to provide you with access to and use of the App, including facilitating nutrition tracking and managing your account.

3.2. Communication

We may use your personal information to communicate with you, respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and send you important updates, notifications, and promotional materials.

3.3. Improvements and Research

We may use the information we collect to analyze trends, monitor usage patterns, and improve the functionality and user experience of the App. This may include conducting research and development activities, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing security measures.

3.4. Legal Compliance

We may use your personal information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal proceedings, such as responding to lawful requests and protecting our rights or the rights of others.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1. Service Providers

We may engage third-party service providers to assist us in providing and maintaining the App. These service providers may have access to your personal information to perform specific tasks on our behalf, and they are obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.

4.2. Aggregate Information

We may share aggregated and anonymized information that does not identify any individual for research, marketing, or other purposes.

4.3. Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the App regarding any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

4.4. Legal Requirements

We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., law enforcement agencies).

4.5. AI Assistants You Connect

Hit My Macros lets you connect third-party AI assistants (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to your account through our connector for the Model Context Protocol. This only happens when you explicitly authorize it by signing in during the assistant’s connection flow. A connected assistant can, on your behalf, read your profile, nutrition goals, logged food, body-weight entries, and workout history, and can log or delete entries when you ask it to. That data is transmitted to the assistant’s provider (e.g., Anthropic or OpenAI) and is then governed by that provider’s own privacy policy and your settings with them. We do not sell your data to these providers; access exists solely so your assistant can act on your requests. You can revoke a connection at any time by removing the connector in the assistant’s settings, after which its access tokens stop working.

4.6. Content You Import

When you import a recipe from a link (for example a TikTok or Instagram post), we retrieve that page’s public content and may process it with third-party scraping and AI services to extract the recipe. The link and extracted content are processed for you and stored in your account; we do not share your identity with the source platform.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will promptly delete such information.

7. Your Choices

You may have the right to access, update, correct, or delete certain personal information we have collected about you. You can do so by contacting us at [email protected]. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

If you have allowed us to access your camera, photos or location and wish to revoke this permission, you can do so in your device settings. Please note that this may affect the functionality of the App.

8. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date“ at the top of this policy or by other means. Your continued use of the App after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

9. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, please contact us at [email protected].

Please note that this is a general privacy policy template. It is important to consult with legal professionals or privacy experts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations based on your specific circumstances and jurisdiction.
